How we make our vintage style kitchen utensils

Handmade by local Amish craftsmen, Lancaster cooking utensils are made from sustainably harvested North American hardwoods. We currently offer American Black Cherry, Maple, and Eastern American Black Walnut. All of these trees are native to the United States and are locally sourced. Our spoons and spatulas are individually cut and each one is sanded smooth. They are ready for immediate use in your kitchen.

Using your spoon and spatula set

With our spoon and spatula, you have two of the most popular cooking utensils in the American kitchen. Our spoon is excellent for many kitchen adventures including cooking sauces, stirring batters, mixing veggies, tossing salads, and even serving guests at the dinner table. The Lancaster spatula comes with a tapered edge that allows you to easily access the corner of your pot or skillet. It is the perfect tool for sauteing vegetables, flipping eggs, making omelets, or mixing stir fry. Our traditional wooden spatula set is a great alternative to “non-stick” cooking utensils as it can be used on any cooking surface. Compared to metal cooking utensils, wooden cookware does not transfer heat to your hand while cooking and will not scratch your pots and pans. Caring for your wooden kitchen utensils

The Lancaster spoon set comes ready for use in your kitchen. We oil our wooden kitchenware with food-grade mineral oil to preserve them for a lifetime of use in your home. We recommend washing your utensil set before first use and each time after cooking. Spoons and spatulas should be washed with warm soapy water and towel dried. We recommend periodically maintaining your wooden spoon set a food-grade oil or butcher block wax to keep them from drying out.
