      Lancaster spoon and board butter

We love using real wooden utensils and boards in our kitchens. An important part of maintaining healthy wood kitchenware and bringing out its naturally beautiful color is periodically oiling your favorite wooden spoons. This simple but important process will keep your wood hydrated and protected.
Commonly known as beeswax wood conditioner, wood butter, or cutting board oil, our wood wax is essential for maintaining or restoring Lancaster wooden spoons. Wood wax is a blend of organic beeswax and mineral oil, two essential ingredients for use on your kitchenware. When oiling your wooden spoons, the food grade mineral oil acts as a hydrating agent for the wood. Allowing the oil to soak deep into the pores of the wood will help preserve the wood and prevent cracking. The beeswax has the dual benefit of both sealing the pores and keeping the oil inside the wood, as well as acting as a natural antibacterial agent, preventing mold from forming on your kitchenware.

How to oil wooden spoons and cutting boards

Apply a liberal amount of Lancaster wood wax with a clean cloth to your spoon or board. After allowing the wax to soak in for 4-8 hours or overnight, buff off any excess wax left on the spoon. Reapply your wood wax monthly or as needed.
