California AB 1200 Disclosure
At Lancaster Cast Iron, everything we make is built with intention—crafted to be used, loved, and passed down. We believe great cookware should not only perform beautifully, but also give you complete confidence in what you’re cooking with.
Your trust matters to us. That’s why we are committed to full transparency in how our cookware is made and what it’s made from.
Our Commitment to Safe, Honest Cookware
We design and manufacture cast iron cookware that is:
- Made in the USA
- Free from synthetic chemical coatings
- Pre-seasoned with simple, food-safe oils
- Built to last for generations
Like all traditional cast iron, our cookware relies on natural seasoning—not factory-applied nonstick chemicals—to create a cooking surface that improves over time.
What is AB 1200?
The California Safer Food Packaging and Cookware Act (AB 1200) is a “right to know” law. It requires cookware manufacturers to disclose whether certain chemicals—called Candidate Chemicals—are intentionally added to food-contact surfaces or handles.
This law is about transparency, not safety thresholds. It ensures that you, the customer, have access to clear information about the materials used in your cookware.
