How our wooden strainers are made
Our wooden strainers are handmade in Lancaster, Pennsylvania by local woodworkers and artisans. Each wooden strainer is carved and hand sanded to a smooth finish. Utilizing local partnerships and local resources is a priority for us. This allows us to be both friendly to the environment and supportive of local industry. We use hardwoods sourced from the Eastern United States. The wooden strainer is available in Black Cherry.
How to use your Lancaster wooden strainer
Handcrafted from Pennsylvania Cherry wood, our skimmer spoon is an excellent kitchen tool for cooking ravioli or tortellini, boiling eggs, skimming fat or meat from a pot, or serving up fresh vegetables.
Caring for your wooden strainer
Wooden spoons and other wooden cooking utensils should be washed by hand after each use and towel dried before storing. We recommend periodically applying wood wax
to your utensils to keep them hydrated. This prevents your utensils from drying out and cracking and will allow them to last a lifetime in your kitchen.
